Waitangi Day stories

A long time ago there were Maori people and they signed a piece of paper and then Captain Cook did too.  Then they shared the land.  Then they lived happily ever after and Captain Cook lived here.

The Maori people were in New Zealand then some other people came to New Zealand and they asked if they could share a half of the World.  The Maori people said “Yes”.  The other people gave the Maori people some gifts.

Napier Earthquake Stories

Oh no! In Napier in 1931 lots of people died.  Buildings fell down.  Napier was flat and one day it was fixed and then lots of people lived happily ever after.

In the olden days there was a bad bad earthquake.  A lot of people and babies died.  Some people survived but they had to live in tents.  Everything was crushed.  It was sad but the army people came to build Napier again.  Everyone lived happily ever after.
